Best Free MMORPG

Looking for a great gaming experience, but don't want to spend a lot of money? Love the idea of playing online with old and new friends, but don't love the ongoing expense of a subscription? Keep reading; we have a solution that won't bankrupt your budget or insult your gaming intelligence. We're going to hook you up with some of the best online games you can play, with new virtual worlds to explore, for free.

Everyone has a method of relieving the stresses that pile up on our shoulders every day. Some people go fishing, or do yoga, or go out drinking. For a fair amount of people in the world that method of stress relief is video games. What could be any better? You can build yourself a new life, hack and slash your way through enemy hoards or shoot every zombie in sight. All of those are great ways to relieve the pressure.

Of course, when you start to think about the costs of getting a video game system, at least a current one, it can be a costly endeavor. It's not exactly a relaxing though to shell out:
  • $300 for a system (at least for a next generation system).
  • $50 to $60 for a game.
No, that's not relaxing, even in the slightest. Of course, if you want to have online play as an option, at least in any way that will give you a real sense of attachment to other human beings, then you will probably have to shell out an extra amount, which varies by system.
If you want to get the most, in the form of bang for your buck, then you should probably get used to playing games on your computer. When you choose a computer, at least you can check your email and surf the web during the non-gaming time.

Before you say it, I know that you think that all online games are either corny and short with cheesy graphics or come with a monthly fee that will make it expensive, at least in the long run. That is not exactly what you would call a budget-friendly and stress-reducing affair -- but what if it could be?

Don't click away, I am not messing with your head or trying to fool you into signing up for something that is sub-par. I am talking about getting free, quality online gaming where you can either play by yourself or hook up with your friends. I am talking about getting you set up with an MMORPG.

For those of you who have been living in an isolated mountain cabin or a deserted tropical island for the past few years, the word "MMORPG" is an acronym which stands for "Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game." Basically what this means is an immersive and interactive world where you can complete missions, sometimes called quests, with players who are your team mates or your enemies. These worlds are usually populated with some artificial intelligence, known as NPCs (Non-player characters) who will help you out as you go about achieving your goals.
The game that fits into the category which is most recognizable to most people, even outside the gaming community, is World of Warcraft. If you have seen this game, either directly or in parody form in TV shows like South Park, then you have a solid concept of what an MMORPG is.
